General Summary
In 2003, Overland Park was named one of the top 20 "Best Places to Live and Work" by Employment Review Magazine and BestJobs-USA.com. Overland Park was also #3 on Money Magazine's 2003 annual list of most desirable places to live in the United States.

Overland Park has been cited as the second "smartest" city in the country, according to a study that reviewed cities with the highest percentage of residents age 25 and over with four-year college degrees. Overland Park has 46.4% residents with college degrees. The population of over 25 with a Bachelor’s Degree is 52.1% and has one of the highest levels of educational attainment of any county in the nation.

Accommodations
Excellent accommodations are throughout the area and many provide top notch lodging for the very frequent business travelers to the area. A sampling of the hotels include: Overland Park Marriott- an eleven story Hotel adjacent to Executive Hills & Corporate Woods Office Parks; the four story modern Motor Inn located near Corporate Woods; Comfort Inn & Suites, and the Sheraton Overland Park at the Convention Center.

Restaurants
Several of Overland Park Restaurants receive favored comments. A few of those varied choices include: Copeland’s of New Orleans, the Leawood Restaurant serving American foods with outdoor seating available, the Cheesecake Factory, and 40 Sardines Restaurant ranks as a favored dining place as well. In addition, Overland Park’s 1906 Bar and Grille has inviting menu items.

Shopping
Shopping is abundant in Overland Park with everything from exclusive specialty stores to discount retailers. Overland Park offers two enclosed shopping malls and hundreds of stores and specialty shops. Oak Park Mall, Metcalf South Mall, and Hawthorne Plaza, offer a broad variety of specialty stores and boutiques.
